Sniper Shots: Worlds Longest Sniper Shot Kill

Just How Far is a Mile and a Half?

Can you even see a guys face from a mile and a half away?

Rob Furlong, Sniper Shots Expert and World Record holder for longest confirmed sniper shot kill can.

Think about trying to hit anything from 18 blocks away, the broad side of a barn is even out of the question for me.

The physics involved and general observations of temperature, elevation, wind speed, barometric pressure and whatever else might affect bullet trajectory is mind boggling.

Amazing Sniper Shots

Rob Furlong, a former corporal of the Canadian Forces, holds the record for the longest confirmed sniper kill in combat.

2,430 metres (2,657 yd, 12.08 furlongs, or 1.51 miles).

Born in Fogo Island, Newfoundland, Furlong taught himself to fire a rifle ambidextrously.

In 2002, Furlong participated in Operation Anaconda in Afghanistan’s Shah-i-Kot Valley as a member of the 3rd Battalion of Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry (PPCLI).

His sniper team included MCpl. Graham Ragsdale (Team Commander), MCpl. Tim McMeekin, MCpl. Arron Perry, and Cpl.Dennis Eason.

McMillan TAC-50

A group of three al-Qaeda fighters was moving into a mountainside position when Furlong took aim with his Long Range Sniper Weapon (LRSW), a .50-caliber McMillan Brothers Tac-50 rifle and ammunition loaded with 750 gr Hornady A-MAX very-low-drag bullets.

Sniper Shots From 1.51 Miles Away

He began firing at a fighter carrying an RPK machine gun.

His first shot missed and his second shot hit the knapsack on the target’s back.

The third struck the target’s torso, killing him.

The distance was measured as 2,430 meters (2,657 yd / 1.509 miles).

With a muzzle speed of 823m/s (2,700 ft/s), each shot reached the target almost four seconds after Furlong fired.

This feat is not typical for the effective range with a high first-hit probability of the employed rifle on non-static targets (see maximum effective range).

The shot was aided by the ambient air density in the Shah-i-Kot Valley where Corporal Furlong operated, which is significantly lower than at sea level due to its 2,743 meter (9,000 ft) mean elevation.

SEALS Get New Semi-Auto .50 Caliber BMG

Sniper Shots are going to get a whole lot easier.

Looks like the U.S. Navy SEALs just got a brand new tool for the War on Terror.

The boys at NSWC Crane (Crane Division, Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane, Indiana) have apparently been busy little beavers over there.

One of the projects they’ve been working on is this little .50 BMG badboy.

It’s called the AS50 Semi-Automatic Rifle, and it’s the result of NSWC Crane’s teaming with Accuracy International (AI).

At approx. 27 pounds empty/dry weight (according to the AI representative at their booth), the AI AS50 is relatively lightweight….

The Accuracy International (AI) AS50 Semi-Auto Rifle (.50 BMG) was designed specifically for U.S. military Special Operations (SPECOPS) personnel/snipers.

More specifically, it was designed for the U.S. Navy SEALs to provide them with anti-materiel/long-range interdiction capability, combined with fast follow-up shot capability, in a combat-rugged, lightweight weapons package that can be assembled and broken down quickly and easily, and maintained easily. …

Sounds pretty good.

As if that’s not enough, the AI rep at the booth told us that the AS50 semi-auto .50 BMG rifle creates less felt recoil than their AW50 bolt-action .50 BMG rifle. …

Magazine capacity is 5 rounds for the AS50.

The magazine is detachable box type.

AI’s whole focus is to combine match-grade accuracy with military-application reliability and ruggedness, and it looks like it just might have succeeded with the AS50.

This photo was brought to you courtesy of that follow up shot…

Tactical Sniper Kill Shot

A Canadian sniper sharpshooter in Afghanistan has been confirmed as hitting an enemy soldier at a range of 2,310 meters (7565 ft/1.43 miles), the longest recorded and confirmed sniper shot in history.

The previous record of 2,250 meters (7369 ft/1.4 miles) was set by US Marine sniper Carlos Hathcock in Vietnam in 1967.

The Canadian sniper was at an altitude of 8,500 feet and the target, across a valley, was at 9,000 feet.

Canadian sniper teams often operated in support of US infantry units, which were grateful for their help.

The record lasted only one day, until a second Canadian sniper hit an enemy soldier at 2,400 meters (7860 feet/1.48 miles).

The Canadian snipers fire special 50-caliber McMillan tactical rifles, which are bolt-action weapons with five-round magazines.

The Canadian snipers were the only Canadian troops operating without helmets or flak jackets as they had too much other equipment to carry.

Each three-man sniper team has one sniper rifle, three standard rifles Canadian (C7s), one of them with a 203mm grenade launcher.

Americans use the Barrett .50 semi-auto M-107.

They have a nick named the Barrett sniper rifle, Grim Reaper.

‘Grim Reapers’ indeed.

So far, so good.

Sniper Shots: Girls Like Guns Too

Friday, June 4th, 2010

Sony Rewards

Sniper Shots aren’t just for boys anymore.

Girls like guns too.

Petite_Guns_Girls_Guns

When choosing women guns there is no significant difference between “guy guns and girl guns”, it is simply a matter of hand size and upper body strength that differentiate females and males.

Women usually have less upper body strength compared to the average male which is the basis most handguns are designed for, which is why most women prefer smaller guns with less recoil, making them more appealing to women looking for women guns.

Now we’re not saying women have to have tiny guns but it is important for your handgun to properly fit your hand, small enough to conceal with in your wardrobe or purse and in self-defense circumstances, it must be able to stop a raging male whom is substantially larger than you.

PetiteGuns.com is proud to offer a wide variety of “women guns” that we feel every woman shooter should own.

Some of the quality brand names we have to offer women looking for women  handguns are: Armscor, Beretta, Bersa, Bond ARms, Braztech, Charter Arms, Cobra, CZ-USA, EAA, Glock, Hi-Point, Heckler & Koch, Kahr Arms, Kel Tec, Phoenix Arms, Ruger, Sig Sauer, Smith & Wesson, Taurus, and many others.

PetiteGuns  also carries many accessories for your women hanguns at affordable prices that you won’t want to pass up.

The ladies in our life like to show their support for their passion, that’s why they make pink guns.

Pink guns are nothing new.

These pistols painted in girlish hues have been auctioned for breast cancer awareness and criticized as a silly marketing gimmick for years.

However, with women like Debbie Ferns proving female-only shooting camps, it’s likely we’ll see even more for-her, rose-colored accessories in 2010.

And while not all females require a pink gun and/or accessories, it’s nice to have some options.

‘You Shoot Like a Girl’ has become quite the complement in the last few years.

She lets the world know how she feels about 300 meter sniper shots with the clothes that she wears.

First Female Squad Designated Marksman

By Capt. Cory Angell, Pa. National Guard Public Affairs
Jun 18, 2007 – 6:58:06 PM

On the final day of range fire the students conducted a stress shoot where they must engage targets after physical activity and noise and other distractions challenge their concentration and their control over their breathing and heart rate.

Blackanthem Military News, FORT INDANTOWN GAP, PA. – As the hot summer sun beats down on an open range at Fort Indiantown Gap, Spc.  Krystal Ginter squeezes the trigger and puts her mark in the history books.

Ginter, Lancaster Pa., became the first female in the U.S. Army to graduate the Squad Designated Marksman Course.  She graduated June 16 along with 18 others at Fort Indiantown Gap, Pa.

“It’s an honor to be the first female soldier in the Army to graduate the course,” said Ginter, who serves as a Counter Intelligence Agent for Stryker.

“The best part is just having the chance to improve my skills and take what I have learned back to my unit and share what I have learned.  We all need good marksmanship skills in combat.”

The course was developed after lessons learned in the early part of the Global War on Terror.  The idea is to train one Soldier in each squad to engage targets at twice the normal distance of qualification.

“The current conflict taught us that being able to engage beyond our 300-meter qualification can be required at times,” said Maj. James Fluck with the 56th Stryker Brigade Combat Team of the Pennsylvania National Guard.

The Soldiers are trained up to 600 meters and at that range wind can have an affect on the trajectory of the round as well as target elevation and light.

“They are taught at what clock direction wind can have the strongest affects and then they must judge how strong that affect will be,” said Fluck.  “On a bright day a target will appear closer and on a dark day farther away.  If a target is on a higher piece of ground than the shooter, it can appear closer.  If it’s located down hill, it will appear farther away.”

Ginter’s natural ability and upbringing may have helped her through the challenges of the course.

“My father, Sgt. Maj. William Ginter, has served in the Army since 1987,” said Ginter.  “He would take me to the range and we would fire pistols.  I always had fun doing that with him.”

Fluck said that the Stryker Brigade is glad to have as many Soldiers as possible qualified as Squad Designated Marksmen.  Fluck was quick to point out that Stryker has more sniper slots then any other brigade in the army and that this is one of the most intense shooting courses. It helps to prepare those who wish to serve as snipers in the brigade.

“The Soldiers who graduate this two-week course will put approximately 1,200 rounds down range over that time,” said Fluck.  “That’s a great deal of shooting and really makes them highly skilled.”

The Pennsylvania National Guards 56th Stryker Brigade Combat Team will hit its operational readiness sometime late in 2008.  Until that time, the Soldiers of the Brigade continue to train hard for a possible deployment.

“Being in Stryker provides us with the latest equipment along with a number of challenges,” said Ginter.  “I feel lucky to have the opportunity to attend this course and look forward to the other challenges that are still out there.”

Sniper Shots: Sniper Shots at Google

Monday, January 4th, 2010

Sony Rewards

Hey,

Well Placed Sniper Shots

Well Placed Sniper Shots

When it comes to well placed Sniper Shots, I  know what I am doing.

All of my sniper shots are well planned, carefully calculated and surgically placed engagements with a very specific target.

My name is Dave and I’m a Google Sniper.

An ARMY snipers purpose is to eliminate or disable an enemy target.

My job as a Google Sniper is to acquire the top ranking for a give keyword by carefully calculating and surgically placing important words and phrases into the text of an article in order to increase my ranking and eliminate any competition.

Why do I want to do this?

To make money, of course.

Every month, 60,500 people search for the keyword I built this site around.

When they enter it into the search engine, Google brings up the #1 site for that particular keyword.

Because I have crafted this site in such a way, with certain words and phrases in a certain order, there is a very good chance that mine will be that #1 site.

I just happen to have something to offer that one or two of those people might be interested in purchasing.

I hope you are one of them.

I learned how to do this in just a few weeks, stick with me and I’ll have you taking and making sniper shots at Google in no time.

If you are not interested in this offer, please, take a few minutes and look around the site anyway.

I named it Sniper Shots for a reason, and that reason is, Sniper Head Shots!

There are pics of .50 cal sniper shots, stats on the longest recorded sniper shots and then there are the rifles.

Sniper rifles from every nation on earth.

Very cool.

I’ve Heard It Said:

If You Need Money, Go To Work

Squirrl Killers

Sniper Shots - Squirrel Killers

I believe this and have practiced it all my life and it’s exactly what I do when I take Sniper Shots at Google.

I work on my sniper sites in my spare time, when the kids are asleep and all the chores are done.

When you go to the Google Sniper site, George Brown will tell you about the thousands of dollars you can make and how you can build one of these sites in a couple of hours.

I suppose it’s possible but so are 4 minute miles and 1000 yard kill shots, but not by me.

I don’t think $15,000 a month is typical but the extra $500 or so a month I’m bringing in is absolutely fabulous.

( update on 6/11/10 – it’s more like $1000 a month now. )

It has taken me a few minutes to get a handle on a lot of the lingo that is used and I have stumbled on some pretty basic stuff in the beginning but in the long run, it’s like learning to ride a bike or drive a stick shift.

You do it a few times, get it and then you never forget.

I’ve learned words and phrases in the last 30 days that I had never heard of before and now I can’t “not” see them everywhere I go.

I am 40 yrs old and type about 4 words a minute.

Never the less, I have 3 sites up and have made money off of 2 of them already.

Not a whole lot but it is recurring income and that is a big, big plus.

The first sniper site I built showed up on Google the first day I posted it the last entry, just like George said it would.

10 days later I was on page 2 out 15.5 million possible searches.

That was all I needed to see.

I’m sold.

Thanks George.

You Don’t Believe That Sniper Shots at Google Works?

You Don't Believe Me?

You Don't Believe Me?

The proof is staring you in the face.

Building a web site from scratch is pretty technical and takes a lot of code and programming skills.

It was a HUGE relief to discover that I didn’t need to know any of that stuff and I don’t ever have to.

All I have to do is follow the instructions in the Google Sniper Training Manual exactly, and the results are the same every time.

I know it’s hard to believe and it doesn’t seem possible but I can prove it with the next sentence…

You are reading this… so, what I did worked.

It worked for me and it will work for you.

sniper catSince you are reading this post right now, it can mean only one of two things:

1) Either the internet truly is a strange and wonderful place.

or

2) George Browns Google Sniper Training Program really does work.

(yes, that IS a cat with a rifle pointed out the window.)

I Love Sniper

Follow the Sniper Shots at Google Training Manual Word for Word

While it’s true, the internet is a strange and wonderful place, the reason you are reading this post is because I followed the instructions in George Browns Google Sniper Training Manual exactly , word for word and to- a-T.

The results of my sticking to his guidelines are staring YOU right in the face.

This site that I created, just a few days ago, is on page 1 or 2 of the thousands of pages available for whatever you typed into Google.

With the pin point accuracy of a sniper sharpshooter, I acquired my target and executed a textbook strike from a range of global proportions with deadly accuracy.

You were my target and I hit center mass.

In fact, if this were a head shot, I’d have picked the part of your head I didn’t want you to have anymore.

That what Sniper Shots at Google is all about.
